Hailing from the Koʻolau Mountains near Oʻahu, Hawaii, Amber Abara is often seen with a hibiscus flower tucked behind her ear and her black hair tousled by the ocean breeze. Of Filipino, Thai, and Chinese descent, Amber’s striking features and natural talent have propelled her swiftly into the spotlight as both an actress and model. She began modeling in 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when restrictions shuttered the restaurant where she worked and her college classes moved online. She responded to an open casting call for a small speaking role in a TV show filming at the Four Seasons in Maui—and soon found herself on the set of the critically acclaimed series The White Lotus. The connections she made in television opened doors in the modeling world, and she hasn’t looked back since. Her first major campaign was for Savage X Fenty, followed by appearances in campaigns for Hurley, O’Neill, Champion, Free People, Anthropologie, and several international swimwear brands. Her rising fame in modeling led to more acting roles in films shot in Hawaii, and she eagerly anticipates what’s next. When she’s not working, Amber is focused on her soap brand, Sudstone—a creative fusion of the popular gua sha tool and organic bar soap. She also enjoys surfing, hiking island trails, diving for shells, and spending time on the beach with family and friends.
