Born and raised in China, Wenli Zhao grew up in a structured, traditional environment that instilled a strong sense of discipline while nurturing her curiosity about the world beyond it. She began modeling while studying fashion at university, first stepping onto the runway in Shanghai and quickly recognizing it as a natural path forward. An early milestone came when she walked for Coach in Shanghai, though her move to Europe—beginning in Paris—marked the moment her career truly began to take shape internationally. Since then, she has built an impressive portfolio, working on campaigns for Christian Louboutin, FARFETCH, and Adidas x Moonboot, as well as collaborating with Chanel and Cartier and appearing in editorials for publications such as i-D and L’Officiel Hong Kong. Outside of modeling, Wenli is deeply connected to movement, with five years of Latin dance training and a continued interest in styles like K-pop and jazz, alongside hobbies such as cycling and swimming. She also has a growing interest in psychology, believing that maintaining a strong and clear mindset is essential to both her work and personal development.
